What’s on Nana’ s mind.

 

Today I woke up thinking that;  every critical job on this planet should be occupied by a Mom. Want someone to do a good job? Then hire a Mom. The only requirements are to pay her a decent wage, let her do her job, show her respect, pay for her childcare and stay out her business. Take current Press Secretary, Jen Psaki. When Joe Biden selected her she let him know it was only for one year. Why? Because as she put it my kids come first.  This morning I watched her in action.

 

Don’t Mess With Your Mother.

Psaki is by far the most organized Press Secretary I’ve seen to date. Media reps were well behaved at her weekly press report, and her notes were organized. Second, she was calm and responsive. And third, there was no yelling over each other or acting like a bunch of smart-ass children. The main topic was the dozens killed in a Saudi-led coalition air raid on a Yemen prison. In addition, despite U.S. warnings, Russia is likely only weeks away from invading Ukraine. And, finally, the free COVID mask hand-outs.

She let them know that when the time was up, it was up. Psaki smoothly picked up her notes. She stepped back from the podium. And, on her way out the door said, you can find me in my office if you have further questions. Damn! Now, that’s a Mommy on the case. Don’t ask me. Ask Mama Jen’s husband, Gregory Mecher, who tells his kids, after Mama Jen whips them into shape when they misbehave, “Do not mess with your Mother.” You go gurl’.
